Government of India has launched the Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS) on 3rd December 2014 to extend financial assistance against capital expenditure in urban areas (Statutory Towns) only.

Detailed Info

Objectives:

Strengthening of sub-transmission and distribution networks.

Metering of distribution transformers/feeders/consumers.

IT enablement of distribution sector and strengthening of distribution network under R-APDRP for 12th and 13th Plans by carrying forward the approved outlay for R-ADPRP to IPDS.

Schemes for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and IT enablement of balance urban towns are also included under IPDS.

Underground cabling to include additional demands of States and smart metering solution for performing UDAY States and Solar panels on Govt. building with net-metering are also permissible under       the scheme.

A total of 18 Statutory Towns viz. Imphal, Lamsang , Wangoi , Heirok, Wangjing, Yairipok , Sugnu , Oinam, Kwakta, Kumbi, Andro, Kakching Khunou , Sikhong Sekmai , Sekmai, Tamenglong, Kangpokpi, Jiribam & Ukhrul are covered under IPDS Scheme for which MoP through Nodal Agency (M/S Power Finance Corporation Limited ) had sanctioned 85% of total project cost dated 2nd March 2016  as grant and remaining 15% as State Government support.

The project has been successfully completed during financial year 2021-22.
