DDUGJY- Rural Electrification

Various projects funded by Central Government with minimum State Government share (10 %) are taken up to electrify the un-electrified Census Villages and habitations / hamlets and to strengthened the existing infrastructure for better power supply • Two Districts, Chandel and Tamenglong of Manipur were covered under 10th Plan Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY) scheme for electrification of 186 nos. un-electrified villages (UEV) , 93 nos. of habitations (Hab) & 270 nos. of villages for infrastructure extension of electrified villages (EV). Under this scheme 2 (two) new 33/11 kV sub-stations was also constructed. • Going forward, under 11th Plan RGGVY Scheme 7 (Seven) Districts viz. Ukhrul, Senapati, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Churachandpur, Imphal East and Imphal West of Manipur were taken up for electrification of 658 un-electrified villages(UEV), 437 habitations(HAB) & infrastructure extension of 1077 electrified village(EV). Also 6 (Six) new 33/11 kV sub-stations were built under this scheme. • To attain the goal of Government of India for electrifying all the census villages either by Grid or Off-grid mode and to electrify habitations with sizeable population, MSPDCL took up to electrify 206 nos. UEV, 257 nos. un-electrified Habitations under 12th Plan Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) Scheme in 6 districts viz. Bishnupur, Chandel, Churachandpur, Senapati, Tamenglong and Ukhrul. And with this project all the census villages are electrified in Manipur and becoming Leisang (CC-268548) in Senapati Districts to be the last village in India to be electrified through Grid network. 1 (one) new 33/11 kV sub-station at Parbung, Churachandpur District was taken up under this scheme to cater electric supply to villages in and around Parbung area. • Further, electrification works for habitations are taken up in 3 districts viz. Imphal East, Imphal West and Thoubal under DDUGJY (New) scheme. And under this scheme, total of 301 habitations were electrified. • In order to improve the already created infrastructures, System Strengthening project was implemented in all the districts of Manipur. Under this project, infrastructures were upgraded in 275 habitations.

Rural electrification:

·       Two Districts, Chandel and Tamenglong of Manipur was covered under X^th Plan Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana  (RGGVY) scheme for electrification of 168 nos. un-electrified villages (UEV) , 115 nos. of habitations (Hab)  & 268 nos. of villages for infrastructure extension of electrified villages (EV).

Under this scheme 2 (two) new 33/11 kV sub-stations was also build.

·       Going forward under 11^th Plan RGGVY Scheme remaining 7 (Seven) Districts viz. Ukhrul, Senapati, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Churachandpur, Imphal East and Imphal West of Manipur are taken up for electrification of un-electrified villages/habitations & infrastructure extension of electrified village also another 6 (Six) new 33/11 kV sub-stations were built.  The achievements under this scheme is shown in the table below
